  1. What level coaches can benefit from this event?
    Our goal is to provide coaches with the tools, insight and education to become better coaches. We seek to provide a range of sessions that offer value to coaches of all levels - from youth coaches to high school coaches to college coaches. We select our presenters very carefully and develop a new convention curriculum each year. We believe that coaches of all levels will benefit from attending the World Softball Coaches' Convention.

  2. How much does it cost to attend the event?
    This year, we are offering an early registration rate of $105.00, available until October 15, 2019. After October 15, the registration rate for coaches who register and pay in advance of the event is $115.00. Coaches registering at the event, or coaches who have not paid their registration fee at the time of the event, will be charged the "At the Door" rate of $130.00. Players/students (18 & under) can attend our event for $75.00 (this rate does not change at the door).

  3. Do you have special rates for groups?
    Yes, groups of 5 or more coaches are $99.00 per coach. Players/Students (18 & under) are admitted for $75 and can be included in the group numbers although there is no discount for them.   4. What do I receive as part of my convention registration?
    Registration provides you with a credential that gives you full access to the event - coaches sessions, the Exhibitor Zone and Talking Softball – for the entire duration of the convention. As part of your registration, you will receive a credential with lanyard (you must wear this at all times to enter the convention), an event gift bag and an event information handout (this includes the latest event schedule, outlines of convention sessions and an Exhibitor Zone map). Your registration also entitles you to complimentary coffee on Saturday morning (while supplies last).

  5. Will I get a receipt for my payment so I can turn it in for reimbursement?
    If you register online, by phone or by mail, you will receive a receipt sent to the email address you provide. We do not mail receipts unless you provide a self-addressed stamped envelope with your registration. You can also obtain a receipt of payment at the event.

  6. Can I use a Purchase Order from my school to pay my registration fee?
    You are welcome to use a purchase order for your school to process your registration fees. However, ALL purchase orders must be fulfilled, and monies received in full prior to your arrival at start of the event. If you need to make special arrangements in conjunction with a school purchase order, please call the event office at 860-674-1500.

  7. What are the registration times and where does it take place?
    Registration begins on Saturday, January 11th at 7:15am. Registration will take place in the Mohegan Sun Expo Center.

  8. How is the material presented?
    Our convention sessions are primarily lecture-style, with many presenters using audio-video technology and live demonstrators to help "illustrate" their sessions. We do offer special live demonstration sessions in the Extra Innings Batting Cage. Most sessions feature a question & answer period. If you cannot get your question answered during a session, our presenters are very accessible throughout the event.

  9. Are players/students encouraged to attend?
    Yes, players/students ages 18 and under can attend our event at a lesser registration fee of $75.

  10. Do you have any special hotel rates for attendees?
    Special hotel rates for the 2020 Mohegan Sun World Softball Coaches' Convention are available at the beautiful Mohegan Sun Hotel (parking is complimentary and the hotel is attached to the Convention Center for easy access to the event) and the nearby Hyatt Place, Courtyard Marriott, Holiday Inn Norwich, Microtel Inn & Suites, and Fairfield Inn & Suites. We encourage you to make your reservations early as these room blocks will sell out.   11. Can I videotape the presentations at the convention?
    No, we do not allow videotaping of convention sessions.

  12. What will be in the exhibitor area?
    There will be a broad range of exhibitors featuring the game's latest products and cutting-edge services, ranging from uniforms, softball and field equipment, fundraising products/consulting and many other softball and softball related products.   13. What should I wear to the convention?
    We encourage you to wear comfortable clothes, such as coaching attire, etc.

  14. What do I need to bring with me to the convention?
    While you will receive an Event Information Handout that includes an outline of convention sessions, we would encourage you to bring a pad and pen with which to take notes. Complimentary bottled water is available in the break-out rooms (while supplies last), but you might also consider bringing a water bottle, too.

  15. Are there any meals provided?
    The World Softball Coaches’ Convention does not provide meals to attendees. However, the Mohegan Sun features a broad range of eating places that are within easy walking distance of the Convention Center. The event has a partnership with Geno's Fastbreak Restaurant, which is located just outside the Convention Center doors, that offers all convention attendees a 15% savings on all food & beverage purchases during the event (just show your event credential to receive this special discount).

  16. Can I earn CEUs at the convention?
    The World Softball Coaches' Convention does not offer coaching Continuing Education Units at this time.

  17. Can my child or spouse attend the convention with me?
    Yes, but they must also register and pay for the convention. All of those who attend the convention must be registered and paid individually in order to receive a credential with your name on it to enter the event.

  18. If someone can't attend, can a substitution be made?
    Yes, please contact the event office at 860-674-1500 with the replacement's information as soon as you know there will be a substitution and we will make the change.

  19. What is the event refund policy?
    No refunds for 2020 event registrations will be given after December 1, 2019. Refunds granted prior to December 1, 2019 will be subject to a $25 administrative fee.

  20. What happens if there is inclement weather during the event?
    The convention will go on as scheduled, even in the event of inclement weather.
