What level coaches can benefit from this event?
Our goal is to provide coaches with the tools, insights and education to become better coaches. We seek to provide a range of sessions that offer value to coaches of all levels - from youth coaches to high school coaches to college coaches. We select our presenters very carefully and develop a new clinic curriculum each year. We believe that coaches of all levels will benefit from attending the World Softball Coaches' Convention.Top
Can players attend this event and will they learn from this event?
Yes, players/students ages 10-18 are encouraged to attend and we offer a special rate of registration fee of $69. For players younger than 14, we encourage a parent or coach to attend with them. During the clinic, we will offer a number of autograph sessions and interactive learning sessions.Top
How much does it cost to attend the event?
The registration rate for coaches who register and pay in advance of the event is $105.00. Coaches registering at the event, or coaches who have not paid their registration fee at the time of the event, will be charged the "At the Door" rate of $130.00. Players/students ages 10 - 18 can attend our event for $69.00 (this rate does not change at the door).Top
Do you have special rates for groups of coaches and players?
Yes, groups of 5-9 are $95 per person (a $10 savings each) and groups of 10 or more are $90 per person (a $15 savings each). Students (10-18) are admitted for $69 and can be included in the group numbers although there is no additional discount for them.Top
What do I receive as part of my clinic registration?
Registration provides you with a credential that gives you full access to the event - coaches sessions and the Exhibitor Zone - for the entire day. As part of your registration, you will receive a credential with lanyard (you must wear this at all times to enter the clinic), an event gift bag and an event information handout (this includes the latest event schedule, outlines of clinic sessions and an Exhibitor Zone map). Your registration also entitles you to complimentary coffee on Saturday morning (while supplies last).Top
Will I get a receipt for my payment so I can turn it in for reimbursement?
If you register online, by phone or by mail, you will receive a confirmation email sent to the email address you provide. We do not mail receipts unless you provide a self-addressed stamped envelope with your registration.Top
Can I use a Purchase Order from my school to pay my registration fee?
We would prefer to have each registrant paid for before the event. If you have to make special arrangements in conjunction with a school purchase order, please call the event office at 860.674.1500.Top
What are the registration times and where does it take place?
Registration begins on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7:00am in the Mohegan Sun Convention Center's Pre-Function Area.Top
How is the material presented?
Our clinic sessions are primarily lecture-style, with many presenters using audio-video technology and live demonstrators to help "illustrate" their sessions. We do offer special demonstration sessions in the ProBatter Hitting Tunnel. Most sessions feature a question & answer period. If you cannot get your question answered during a session, our presenters are very accessible throughout the event.Top

Everyone who attends the clinic session(s) must register and pay for the clinic. If you are the parent/guardian of a player who would like to attend the clinic, you must register yourself for the clinic as well if you would like to be admitted.Top
Do you have any special hotel rates for attendees?
Special hotel rates for the 2012 Mohegan Sun World Softball Coaches' Convention are available on site at the Mohegan Sun Hotel and the nearby Hyatt Place, Courtyard Marriott, Holiday Inn Norwich and Rosemont Suites. Special room rates range from $89.00 - $215.00. We encourage you to make your reservations early as these room blocks will sell out. Can I videotape the presentations at the clinic?
No, we do not allow videotaping of the clinics. We do, however, give each attendee a registration handout that includes each presenter's topics and outlines so it is easy to follow along and take notes during presentations.Top
What will be in the exhibitor area?
There will be a broad range of exhibitors featuring the game's latest products and cutting-edge services, ranging from uniforms, field equipment, fundraising products/consulting and many other softball and baseball related products. Last year, we had more than 80 exhibitors.Top
What should I wear to the clinic?
We encourage you to wear comfortbale clothes, such as coaching attire, etc.Top
What do I need to bring with me to the clinic?
While you will receive an Event Information Handout that includes an outline of clinic sessions, we would encourage you to bring a pad and pen with which to take notes. Complimentary bottled water is available in the break-out rooms (while supplies last), but you might also consider bringing a water bottle, too.Top
Are there any meals provided?
The event offers complimentary coffee on Saturday morning (while supplies last), but all other meals are your responsibility. The Mohegan Sun features a broad range of eating places that are within easy walking distance of the Convention Center. The event has a partnership with Geno's Fastbreak Restaurant, which is located just outside the Convention Center doors, that offers all clinic attendees a 15% savings on all food & beverage purchases during the the event (just show your event credential to receive this special discount).Top
If a registrant can't attend, can a subsitution be made?
Yes, please contact us with the replacements' info as soon as you know there will be a substitution and we will make the change.Top
What is the event refund policy?
No refunds for 2012 event registrations will be given after December 15, 2011 unless the event is cancelled. Refunds granted prior to December 15, 2011 will be subject to a $25 administrative fee.Top
What happens if these is inclement weather during the event?
The clinic would only be canceled if our speakers are unable to get to Mohegan Sun. If there is any question about the clinic being held due to weather, always check the website or contact the administrative office at 860.674.1500.
